Laggard Definition

Laggard – n : a term coined by Geoffrey A. Moore in his seminal work on marketing for technology startups, “Crossing the Chasm” – 1991, HarperCollins; the last group of potential customers to adopt a new technology or innovation in the technology adoption life cycle (if they adopt it at all). Example: Elderly people, particularly elderly women, will probably prove to be the laggards in the markets for PDAs (personal digital assistants) and MP3 digital music players.
