Leveraged recapitalization – n : similar to an LBO, a
transaction where a management team, sometimes partnering with an investor or
investment firm, purchases a company, using debt to fund at least 50% of the
purchase price. This type of liquidity event is typically seen in traditional
bricks-and-mortar businesses with consistent cash flow to support debt service.
Leveraged recapitalizations are also known as management buyouts (MBOs).
