subscription agreement – n : legal/finance term; the legal
agreement between a company and an investor governing the purchase and sale of
stock. For a given financing round or preferred stock series, the subscription
agreement will typically be identical for all investors in that round (with the
exception of specific investors’ names, signature dates and the number of
shares purchased).
