Description:
Film Regions International (FRI) was initially established as a sole proprietorship in Bakersfield, California. The intention was to establish a small scale film production company and work directly with independent filmmakers in Kern County, California, as well as consult and manage struggling independent films and guide them through the process of securing funds for budget purposes, and handling contracts, releases etc.
Eventually, the company began extensively networking with filmmakers outside the United States, and in a three year period, FRI had established partnerships and international co-productions in the U.S., U.K., Canada and Indonesia, securing financing in projects and submitting these films to festivals worldwide. In 2009, we reestablished the company in Los Angeles to an S Corporation with the intention of raising sufficient capital to finance the objectives of our business plan.
We understand the difficulties in this trying economy at the moment, but we want to hopefully have the opportunity for enhancing the continuation for growth and development in the motion picture industry and open up job opportunities and internships for students studying film and entertainment.
The film industry, is currently undergoing significant changes, as new forms of more cost effective methods continue to become available, this includes allowing independent producers to retain creative control, cost efficient post-production services and digital distribution platforms with the invention of new technology.
