Café des Enfants was conceived Käthe Spiro-Bentzel, the mother of an energetic two-year-old girl. Living in the urban neighborhood of Queen Village, Philadelphia, Spiro-Bentzel spent the first two years of motherhood searching for accomodating environments for her and her daughter to frequent. But after years of looking, she has yet to find a one-stop shop that includes an environment suitable to the needs of both parents and children. Plenty of coffeehouses, but good luck finding one that offers stroller access. Plenty of restaurants, but good luck finding one with a changing table.
