Prior to the advent of Magic Products, the only option for a dirty pot was soaking the pot and leaving it soaking, often in some sort of high potency cleaner, for at least a few hours. Then, upon completion of the soaking process, one had to scour the pot, often quite vigorously, to remove any stains and/or clinging food debris.
