Paul Fisher conceived of and created Digital Jurying in 1999 and founded JAS (URL removed) in 2000 to complete a rigorous 4 year development process in cooperation with the Smithsonian Craft Show, “the Nation’s Most Prestigious Juried Exhibition and Sale of American Craft”. The mandate was to engineer the most efficient and user friendly system for managing the Application, Jurying and Notification process for art competitions. Previously, review/jurying for art exhibition and sales events was done by viewing slides and manually recording voting scores.
