Buddies is a community based mentoring program that encompasses youth, adults,and senior citizens. It was based after Big Brothers/ Big sisters of Canada but formalized for small town saskatchewan. We are in the process of spreading across the province. Other orgaizations are only offered in communities with 1500 or more people, this is hard to find in rural areas. We accommodate these needs. Because of the economic situation that farmers are facing rural saskatchewan is seeing a large number of the men going to the rigs to work to off set the finances of the farm. This is leaving a gap or male role models.
