Introducing All Media Services:
AMS is an LLC created in 2012, set up for a wide range and variety of services and products within the AV industry and tailored for any kind of client.
The business in California will perform the same function as my Spanish company, but with the potential to offer the client more. The main ideas are:
- Create a company group or an international holding to serve clients and create a link for productions between America and Europe.
- Create a trademark to develop fictional productions.
- R&D for antique film recovery. High quality and sometimes with highly exclusive equipment worldwide.
- Keeping up to date with industry standards and formats, HD, 4k, 8k (not too far as it appears...) with the possibility of 16k in a future.
- Offer a service to support international productions e.g. A non US company wanting to film in Hollywood (or vice-versa with Europe) might not have the necessary legal documentation, but as a US-based company we can provide our production services.
- Support to any project that needs neutral spanish accent dubbing or content management in Spain or other LATAM countries.
There are many more ideas I also would like to develop, but this depends on the economic support of the project.
Why we need funding:
Everyone who has worked in this industry will tell you how expensive any kind of professional video service is and then there is the equipment or human resources that you need to make the product/service of a superior quality.
AMS needs to buy almost all production equipment in the US (not necessarily totally new, but used equipment with no faults). Another reason is about standards; not all equipment from EU works correctly in the US and vice-versa (NTSC in US and PAL in EU)
The initial and necessary equipment requirements are:
Professional camera in 4k mid-end: $5.5k
Workstation with legally installed editing suite: $8k
Capturing devices for editing suite: $2.5k
Two HD profesional cameras for multicamera: $3.5k
Three camera tripods: $1.5k
Basic lightning and grip: $4k
Laptop for field work: $1.8k
Photo camera (pro with some lens): $3k
Variety of accesories, displays, speakers, mixers: $2k
Unfortunately, there's lots of things that I am unable to calculate at present e.g. transportation (an auto with enough space),telecom needs (FTTH, wireless data, etc) office to run business, insurance, employees needed to startup...
There ́s a saying; 'Start small, think big', I don't need to have a complex multi-platform studio tomorrow. I aim to grow as the client's needs grow, but at the moment I only have ideas and when launching a new business, your ideas will not pay the IRS or constitution, certificate of the business, insurance, telco services, etc,
What we have achieved so far:
Right now, since 2012, I have spent about $12.5k business related and have borrowed money which I will reimburse once the company becomes profitable. I am currently in a selection process for this business project at the US embassy in Madrid, but it takes a lot of time and costs a lot of money for taxes, fees and managing.
What's next?
The estimation of $100k for this project is not only for the start up ($40-50k), but for the R&D. If you donate capital to this project and you foresee any kind of service that AMS could offer you, then we could negotiate or arrange an exchange and run this service for you (i.e. corporate video, media for website, logo design, formats conversion,music creation, etc) My main idea is to be in CA by mid-January, and I will be in Vegas at the 2015 NAB Show (LVCC) in mid April. I will post updates of my progress.
