Description:
There is an emerging Consumer Electronics personal-space industry called 'Desk-top Audio'. It is the hi-fi of our changing times and located the place most people are sitting, in front of a close screen. They use earphones instead of speakers and have created a new growing tribe of audiophiles.
Over the last three years I (that being me, Barry Thornton) put my previous almost 60 years of audio experience and knowledge into designing better sounding circuits. I have succeeded and turned those into hand-assembled pre-production (that is finished guts, cheap enclosures) units and have been sampling them to critical listeners with great success. I have called this effort Austin Audio Works and now doing a revamp of the marketing as I can produce limited production, profitable at this level of self-sustainability though good old bootstrapping. A good run on the web means we more mainstream and engage of Reps and Dealers, this part I have done before, it is time for money and growth. But that is not now.
I am at the myth building stage of entering the top-end of a niche market. My ultimate goal is to establish the Audiophile reputation, then do an art-packaging move into the glamour and luxury electronics market, and sell the brand to a biggie.
I am looking to start to know my future investors., I seek investors who understand the luxury and glamour markets and can contribute more than money, I am looking for brain power especially in that area. What a fun project!
